Inside Murphy's Pub
Since 1987

Our Story

Murphy's has been the heart of Ballymore since Seamus Murphy first pulled a pint behind this bar in 1987. What started as a quiet village local has grown into one of Westmeath's most loved gathering spots, but the welcome has never changed.

Three generations of the Murphy family have kept the fire lit and the taps flowing. The snug is still the best seat in the house, the Guinness is still poured with care, and the craic is still mighty on a Friday night.

We are a village pub in the truest sense. The place where neighbours catch up, where matches are won and lost over a pint, where trad sessions start at nine and nobody checks the clock. Pull up a stool. You are very welcome.

Word of Mouth

What People Say

Best pint of Guinness between Dublin and Galway. The stew is class too. You'll walk in a stranger and leave a regular.

We stopped in on the way to a match and stayed for the whole evening. Trad session was brilliant, food was deadly. Proper pub.

The Sunday roast alone is worth the drive. Great spot, lovely people, and a fire going year-round. What more do you need?
